Dr. Chris Baba
Dr. Baba was born and raised in Medicine Hat where he graduated from McCoy High School. During his high school years, he worked in the automotive, oil, construction and trucking industries. In addition, Chris served in the Army Reserves for over 5 years and was chosen to represent his Regiment in Europe for the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland.
Chris began his studies at Medicine Hat College then entered the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta where he earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Throughout dental school, Chris also served as president of his class. Upon graduation, Chris was presented with awards for Oral Surgery, Fixed Prosthetics and Operative Dentistry. Dr. Baba values being a part of a team committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. His broad scope of practice includes sedation, pediatric dentistry, surgery, implants, and general dentistry. Dr. Baba has been practicing dentistry for over 17 years.
Chris enjoys cooking, marksmanship, trap shooting, hiking and exploring the outdoors. Beyond his work in dentistry, Chris is actively involved in and dedicated to his community. He served on the YMCA board for 10 years, including 6 years as president. Since 2012, he has been an active member of the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat. Since 2020, he has served as president of the Medicine Hat Dental Society and is also a council member of the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta. In recognition of his dedication to community service, he was awarded King Charles III’s Coronation Medal in 2025. Community service has always been a meaningful part of his life, and Medicine Hat has always been the place he proudly calls home.
