Dr. Baba was born and raised in Medicine Hat where he graduated from McCoy High School. During his high school years, he worked in the automotive, oil, construction and trucking fields. In addition, Chris served in the Army Reserves for over five years and was the soldier chosen to represent his Regiment in Europe for the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland.
After two years of study at Medicine Hat College, Chris entered the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta where he earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. During this time, he was selected to attend a summer exchange program in Germany, focusing on prosthetic dentistry. For the entire duration of his time in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Chris also served as president of his class. Upon graduation, Chris was presented with awards for Oral Surgery, Fixed Prosthetics (crowns, bridges, veneers etc.) and Operative Dentistry (fillings etc.).
Chris’ interests are many and varied. He is particularly interested in cooking, marksmanship, trap shooting, hiking and anything to do with the outdoors. While not at the clinic or spending time with his wife and dog, he volunteers with the YMCA and the Kinsmen Club. He’s spent years on the board of the YMCA where he serves as president and held many positions in the Kinsmen Club where his focus has been with the Home Lotto project. Community service is an important part of his life and Medicine Hat has always been home.
Dr. Van Dam was born and raised in our very own Medicine Hat. Scott graduated from MHHS prior to attending Medicine Hat College. After two year of study, he then entered the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Alberta where acquired both Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees in 2002. During his time at the University of Alberta, he enjoyed mountain biking, skiing and his VW camper van. Dr. Van Dam has been practicing dentistry over the past 12 years in Medicine Hat.
Scott’s passion for dentistry has led him to have a very diverse practice, particularly enjoying pediatric dentistry, surgical procedures, cosmetic dentistry, restorative and preventative dentistry as well as dental implants. Seeing as Scott is exceptionally enthusiastic about learning a variation of new techniques, materials and procedures, he frequently attends continuing education courses and seminars.
In Scott’s leisure time outside of the office, he enjoys skiing, hiking, gardening, and cooking in addition to handy home repairs. Dr. Van Dam feels very fortunate to be able to build his career in such a compassionate office in a city that he loves.
Dr. Dustin Fedosa was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He graduated from Crescent Heights High School prior to attending the University of Calgary where he completed undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and Kinesiology. Dustin received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Melbourne.
Dr. Fedosa enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He finds its rewarding to help people of all ages and backgrounds improve their oral health and well-being. He aims to make his patients feel comfortable during their visit and ensures all treatments are explained in detail and that you are involved in the decision making. Dustin believes that staying current with evidence-based techniques and materials is essential in providing the best quality care for all patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dustin enjoys an active lifestyle spending time at the gym, playing golf and hockey, hiking, travelling, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Dr. Fedosa feels very fortunate to practice with an amazing team in his local community.
